“Comfort and keep comforting my people,” says your God. “Tell Yerushalayim to take heart; proclaim to herthat she has completed her time of service, that her guilt has been paid off, that she has received at the hand of Adonai double for all her sins.” Isaiah 40:1-2

Rosh Chodesh

WHAT IS THE ROSH CHODESH

Rosh Chodesh or Rosh Hodesh is the name for the first day of every month in the Hebrew calendar, marked by the birth of a new moon.

A monthly offering made by Israel to the LORD at the beginning of the new month as written in Numbers 28:11-15.

It is a day where the shofar is blown to announce the arrival of the new month. In a similar manner, ICEJ is blowing the trumpet from Jerusalem to call for a day of prayer and seeking the Lord at the start of each new month.

WHAT DO WE DO DURING ROSH CHODESH

The ICEJ hosts 150 hours of prayer that goes on for 24/7 every month beginning from Jerusalem and goes around the nations and ends with the last watch in Jerusalem. We do not keep the prayer at the head of the month with a legalistic hold but rather we approach it with a spirit of drawing near to God at this particular time of the month as a celebration and thanksgiving to the Lord for all that Yeshua Hamashiach has done and finished for us on the Cross. Our God is a God of seasons and harvests. In Revelation 22:2 writes, “In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was a tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every monthThe leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. He has a healing grace for nations each month!

We want to bless the LORD at this time of the month with our first-fruits, worship and prayer. We want to rededicate our lives each month to the LORD with His blessings.

THE BEGINNING OF ROSH CHODESH

After the start of the pandemic, ICEJ in Jerusalem began the Rosh Chodesh 24/7 prayer chain in the month of Shavout and it has grown from 24 hours to 150 hours faithfully each month. The prayer chain involves nations from all around the world. Malaysia takes part in this Rosh Chodesh prayer chain and we thank God that we have various groups that participates each month. It is such a privilege and blessing to stand in the gap between our nation and Israel.

REIGNITING THE SPIRIT OF PRAYER

ICEJ has been focusing on praying for revival in Israel and the nations every Rosh Chodesh. We have seen the birthing of 24/7 prayer, praise and worship in Malaysia since May 2021 that has been going on non stop for 24/7 alongside other nations from Asia, Taiwan and the Pacific so the fire can burn continuously on the altar. The LORD is touching nations to fill the earth with prayer, praise and worship in a way that could only be orchestrated by the Holy Spirit. Not only in Asia, I believe the burden for prayer and worship including harp worship is coming to life in an unprecedented way.
